D.C. Continued...

The Capitol Building

The Supreme Court

Arlington National Cemetery: We were running out of time and I wasn't sure if we would be able to go - but I'm so glad we did. We ended up staying for quite a while just because I couldn't pull myself away.

John F. Kennedy and Jacquelin Kennedy's graves.

A beautiful and sobering place.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier:
The tomb is guarded 24 hours a day 365 days a year by specially trained elite guards. These guards have to be in peak physical condition, have a clean military record, be a certain weight and build, they must be able to recite verbatim pages of cemetery history and know the grave location of over 300 veterans. After being tested they may earn the privilege of wearing a Tomb Guard Badge.
We were there for the changing of the guards and it was neat to watch.

Back at Joni's. She has a great porch swing!

Sunday dinner with Joni (Pork Chops smothered with Apple and Raisin Chutney): Joni and I like to swap recipes. She is a great cook! No wonder we got along so well as roommates!

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble...yum!
