Fall Fair

We went to the New Canaan Fall Fair a few weekends ago.

Riding on the old fire engine.

Daniel and Nora loved the bird show. Especially Daniel. He even answered a few questions.

Daniel painting a "pet rock."

This chainsaw artist sculpting an owl.

Daniel didn't want to have anything to do with the pony rides - but my Nora who always wants to ride everything- kept asking to ride the horsey. She was so excited the whole time we were in the long line...

...waiting but still excited...

Yep, still excited...until...Shannon tried to sit her on the pony and...

The Martha Stewart Show

I got tickets to the Martha Stewart show recently and invited a few friends to come along. It was such a fun day! I can't thank Shannon enough for working from home so I could go into the city all day and not worry about the kids. What a treat! We went in early, grabbed lunch at the Shake Shack then went over to the studio where we had to stand in line for a while. It was worth it. The set was beautiful. Martha was beautiful. Tina and I got to sit front row/center. We got some free loot and went home happy. So fun! The show aired on the 21st. I think you can watch it online here.

To start off the show we all got a Triwa watch which was so great - not to mention I needed a watch. I think I'll tell everyone Martha Stewart gave it to me.
Josh Charles from The Good Wife on CBS was on the show cooking some yummy smelling fajitas with Martha. They didn't offer us any. :)
A famous architect David Easton was there talking about his new book "Timeless Elegance" which we all got a copy of.
Darcy Miller the editorial director for Martha Stewart Wedding was there doing some wedding stuff- so we got a wedding magazine.
And then they talked a little about Digital Holiday Planning -so we all got sent home with Microsoft Office Home 2010.

Not bad Martha, not bad. I'll be visiting you again.

The warm up guy Joey talking to us about the show.

Tina, me: They split up our group but we were all on the front row.

The set is beautiful. I love her kitchen.

They had fun Halloween decorations everywhere.

The Blaze

This past weekend we went to The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze in the Hudson Valley. They display over 4,000 hand carved illuminated pumpkins in all kinds of formations. We had a Nor'easter come through so it was cold and windy but we still had a good time and the pumpkins are so fun to look at.

Van Cortlandt Manor

The best picture we could get...silly kid. I had two coats on it was so chilly!

Daniel loved the big dinosaurs.

Bee hive and bees

Treats

A couple of treats I've made lately:

Oatmeal Fudge Bars: made as a thank you to a friend who helped me out one day.

Vanilla/Vanilla Cupcakes: made for a friends birthday.

Daniel wanted to mix his own icing to add to the top of his... it ended up gray but he liked it.

At the Park

The last time we were at Waveny Park I took a whole bunch of pictures of Nora. Shannon and Daniel were busy running around- but Nora was happy to take a picture or two or three...

Glad I caught this. Nora loves her daddy.

I think Daniel tied a string onto Shannon like a leash and was running him around the park.

Saturday's

We tend to pack a lot into our weekends. Shannon works so much during the week and by the time the weekend comes around we're ready for some family time together and Shannon's ready to be outdoors instead of infront of a computer screen. Last Saturday we had a fun breakfast/brunch at the SoNo bakery in Norwalk. It was such beautiful weather we were able to eat outside. We tried their greek omelet and stuffed french toast both of which were really yummy. Then went down the street to the Norwalk Aquarium. Daniel has been asking to go back there for a long time! It was a great Saturday.

Photo opp at the aquarium.

Daniel's favorite is the shark tank.

My favorite is the sea turtle.

But this sea turtle was so cute we decided to take him home...
