Gingerbread

For Joy School last week I decided to have a gingerbread theme. We read the Gingerbread Boy story and made gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and icing and I made large cut out gingerbread house that we decorated with paper candy. The kids had so much fun. I think it all turned out really cute.

The gingerbread house before we decorated it. I made them crawl through the door to have "class" in our gingerbread house.

Of course Nora wanted her picture taken as well.

Christmas Tree

We usually get our tree the day after Thanksgiving but we were out of town this year so we had to postpone it a week. We went to Stew Leonard's to pick it out on a rainy cold day. Daniel picked out the tree and I think he did a great job. Once he found the one he liked he wouldn't even look at other trees or consider anything else.

This very nice man peeking out from behind the tree helped us and let Daniel take his time and showed him several.

It's "the one..."

My mom gave me this pioneer wagon ornament this year and I love it.

Book time

Keeping with tradition Daniel slept under the Christmas tree. I loved doing that as a kid so much that I almost wanted to just curl up there with him. One year I might have to...

Thanksgiving

This year we went to see my sisters Jenny and Emily in Ohio and Kentucky for Thanksgiving. We missed Kat, Ken, and Julius but we were glad to have the rest of us together at least. Nora got sick while we were there and was very clingy the whole trip but Daniel had a blast playing with his cousins and seeing Grandma and Grandpa.
Annie, Daniel, and Ruth: Movie time with the cousins!

Jenny and Seth: Looks like Seth is getting a little foot rub.

Emily gave us a little violin concert and let Daniel have a turn with her violin.

Shannon helping Maya with homework before bedtime.
The girls always let me come to their "salon" while I'm there. They always give fabulous hair-do's. Shannon got to experience it this year.

Hopitty

Daniel has a much loved stuffed animal named Hopitty. His Grandma Kathy gave it to him and he takes him everywhere. I just like how loved Hoppity looks.

Waveny Park

We snapped some pictures while we were at Waveny Park earlier this fall. The sun was going down as we were leaving and it was so pretty.

Nora loves shoes and hair accessories! Since she doesn't have any hair to put them in sometimes I'll put them on a head band for her to wear. She loves it.

Fall Leaves

I'm just getting caught up. These are pictures from the beginning of November when we still had pretty leaves everywhere in our backyard.

Halloween

On Halloween a couple of our friends who live in the neighborhood came over to trick-or-treat on our street. Daniel and Dane had it down this year. Nora would stick her bag out and got a kick out of them dropping something in - but didn't understand what they were actually giving her. Probably a good thing since she has quite the sweet tooth. Amazing since she still doesn't have any teeth yet!
