We were scheduled to move on the same day that Daniel was supposed to start school and the same weekend that Hurricane Irene was supposed to hit. Luckily it worked out that we were able to move a few days earlier. Hurricane Irene didn't end up affecting us much -amazingly -even though there was flooding in some areas and people in our ward without power for a week or more. The move went on as scheduled thanks to the many guys in the ward who came to help despite some of them being without power at their own homes.

Saying goodbye to our old place: We had out grown our old place and we were really ready to be in a single family house! Luckily a house that our friends from the ward use to live in became available and it all worked out perfectly. Daniel had a hard time saying goodbye to the old house which is really the only place he's ever remembered living in. He cried and went around hugging everything. He even got a rock from the yard and wrote HOME on it to save. But now that we're in the new house he loves it and so do we.
