Sleeping Under the Tree

One of my favorite traditions growing up was getting to sleep under the Christmas tree one night. When I was little I thought it was something everyone did at Christmas! Apparently not. I have such good memories of us four sisters with our blankets and pillows making our little beds under the tree every year. I was so excited to carry this tradition on with our family. Daniel could hardly believe that I was actually suggesting that he sleep under the tree. He thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Daniel's bed all ready under the tree.
Ready for bed.

Before he went to bed we played with the little nativity set:

Daniel loves to hear the story of the Nativity. When I told him that the three wise men brought gifts for the baby Jesus - he HAD to know what the gifts were. So I told him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. He thought the word myrrh was so funny! Now when HE tells the story he makes sure to include gold, frankincense, and MYRRH (with some giggles after myrrh).

Reading Christmas books by the light of the twinkle lights: This picture is from a different night when Daniel's friend Jackson was over. He loves his friend Jackson!

Manda- we always slept under our tree too!! Especially the day before Christmas Eve. It was the best-- looking up and seeing all of the lights. I always thought this was just our tradition :)
