Utah Trip - Set #1

We enjoyed two weeks in Utah visiting Shannon's mom and my sister and her husband - who had a baby four days after Nora was born. It was great to see everyone! It was especially fun seeing little baby Julius.

Cousins Julius and Nora sporting their BYU gear.

Sweet faces from Nora.

One afternoon we went bowling with Shannon's mom. It was Daniel's first time and he seemed to really enjoy himself.

Getting the ball started...

Waiting as it rolls down the lane...

Hooray! It knocked something over!

Enjoying ice cream at the creamery.

We went to the Bean Museum on BYU campus a few times while we were there because Daniel loved it so much.

Acting like the bear.

Daniel loves to listen to stories and to tell stories. This is the latest story he told about a bear.

"Once upon time I was at my house. I heard a noise....went clomp, clomp, clomp and it was .... A BIG BROWN BEAR! I went and put on my super hero costume and said - Super hero to the rescue! And the bear ran away."

With the lions.

Kathryn and the motherland... :) her husband Ken was born in Uganda.

Daniel being a moose.

It was so nice to see Nana Susan. Daniel loved spending time with her and loves her big dog!

The first weekend we were in Utah was BYU's homecoming. Daniel was so excited to go to the parade. A lot of the people in the parade were throwing candy and Daniel would just sit on the curb and wait for the candy to land at his feet.

A sad baby Julius. What a cute sad face!

Ken used to play soccer for BYU. They had a BYU alumni soccer game while we were there so we were able to go see him play. It was really fun to watch him.

All bundled up and watching Ken's game.

In between soccer games we went over to check out the little sports museum in the Student Athlete building at BYU. We took this picture for my sister Jenny. I grew up watching BYU football but somehow missed learning about the finer points of the game. She has been desperately trying to catch me up.

Nora's Newborn Pictures

I have a lot to catch up on so I'll be posting a lot in the next couple of days. When Nora was two weeks old my good friend Lillian offered to take some pictures of her. It was so nice of Lillian. She is so talented. Thanks so much - I love them!

Pictures of Nora

I am always taking pictures of Nora. It is so fun to see how she is changing. Here are a few pictures from the past week or two.

Ok - I don't love this picture of me. But it's just too cute of Daniel and Nora.

Smiles

Isn't this cute? This is how she looks when she stands.

Holding "the plug"

Getting some exercise.

I like this one because you can see her cute golden brown hair.

A Day in Boston

My dad was in Boston for a day last week helping a friend from China with some interview stuff at Harvard - so we drove up so Dad could see Nora. Daniel loved spending time with Grandpa. He especially loved all of the stories he told. Daniel thinks Grandpa's moustache is so funny and says "it has worms in it...". It was nice to see Tang Cai we wish good him luck on his interviews!
